A work visa in Poland is a document confirming a foreign national's right to work in a given country for remuneration. In Poland, work visas for nationals of Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Georgia and Moldova are marked with the symbol D / 05 and are granted on the basis of a simplified visa procedure. This type of work visa entitles the person to stay in any country in the Schengen area, similarly to all other work visas.
The D / 05 work visa is valid for a 12 month period, during which the foreign national has the right to work in Poland for a maximum of 6 months. If the foreign national wishes to extend his/her stay, they need to apply for a work permit which is valid for 3 years. The work permit itself, so long as the foreign national has one, is the basis for obtaining a work visa.
The long-term work visa for non-Schengen countries, i.e. Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom, and other countries with the exception of Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Georgia and Moldova is marked with the symbol D / 06. It is valid for periods from 91 to 365 days and allows the person to stay and work in Poland for the period for which it is issued. In order to obtain such a visa the foreign national is required to have, among other things, a valid work permit in Poland.
Work visas are issued by the consulate of the country of origin of the foreigner or another country where a Polish consulate is present. You can also apply for a work visa via the Internet.
